Graph-Based Automated Construction Scheduling without the Use of BIM

The construction industry has been suffering from delays and cost overruns for decades. Experienced schedulers programs allocate contingencies (both time) based on professional experiences gained knowledge. Such tacit knowledge not captured, stored, shared with inexperienced schedulers. This paper proposes a graph-based automated scheduling (GAS) method to capture, store, reuse the in schedules. proposed GAS takes schedules as input, extracts schedule features, classifies into different types of sequences, selects assembles sequences schedules, eventually optimizes time- cost-efficiency assembled was validated two case studies. results indicated that automatically generated is, average, 6.70% closer actual than planned schedule. Different existing automatic methods, relies little availability data richness building information modeling (BIM) models. Hence, helps initiate new more efficiently at early stages.
